Program Scope

The scope of this qualification covers:

Cable Jointing such as the laying, installation and maintenance of de-energised Low Voltage and High Voltage underground polymeric cables and the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.

Options are available for skills to be obtained for energised cables and or Low Voltage and High Voltage paper insulated cables.

Who is this Program for?

High and low Voltage Cable Jointing whether joining or terminating is a skill demanded in both commercial and industrial applications. If your role in the workplace requires you to undertake these tasks then you will find this course extremely rewarding.

How is this Program delivered?

The delivery is split into three parts, competency is assessed by completion of all of the following parts:

  1. Practicing the performance skills required to complete a particular task, the learning that results helps improve the problem-solving process as well as your confidence. During the face to face sessions you will be challenged to undertake a series of activities and practical skills assessments.
  1. Longitudinal collection of evidence of workplace experience is also required. Participants will complete an e-logbook, the e-logbook allows for video, photos, text, documents etc. to be verified and uploaded.

How long will this program take to complete?

If you select the “Cloud based” delivery, the theory is self-paced and there are a selection of full week face to face practical sessions (selection commensurate of prior learning).
